Saxophonist, Carlos Averhoff Jr., released his most recent work, called Together and, below, it can be found what Carlos said about the story behind the album
"The first part (90%) of this album was recorded back in the Summer of 2016. The principal idea was to record an official album along with my father, Carlos Averhoff Sr. Unfortunately, he passed. His illness allowed us to record just one track together - it will be in the album. After his transition, I decided not continue with this project and I froze it.
Back in Dec. 2020, I decided to move on and continue the production of this project but with the idea of doing a tribute album to my late father. For this reason, the album will be named Together - honoring him. In this album I invited to record several artists - from the US and Cuba - who collaborated with my father during his lifetime. Some of these artists are very well known in the Latin Jazz scenario, for example: Mr. Chucho Valdes, Nestor Torres, Horacio ‘El Negro’, Orlando Valle Maracas, Cesar Lopez, among others".
