Greg Abate

Greg Abate is a jazz saxophonist, flutist and composer that tours year-round as an International Artist, and has recorded 20 CDs as a leader. His UK tours have been for July and November since 2002.
His many credits include playing lead alto saxophone for the Ray Charles Orchestra 2 years and tenor sax for the Artie Shaw Orchestra, 16 months recording/performing with jazz greats Phil Woods, Claudio Roditi, Richie Cole, Nick Brignola, Don Menza, Jerome Richardson, Richie Cole, Hilton Ruiz, George Marx, Kenny Barron, Tony Bennet, Rosemarie Clooney, Mel Torme with The Artie Shaw Orchestra, James Williams, Rufus Reid and Ben Riley, Billy Hart , Akira Tana, Ray Drummond, Red Rodney, Elvin Jones, Hank Jones, Benny Green, Paquito D’Rivera, Lionel Hampton, Slide Hampton at Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival.
Greg has been featured at major festivals in USA and abroad. His newest release is titled Gratitude with the Tim Ray Trio (Whaling City Sound). This recording was high 10’s for many weeks.
