Caren Vittetoe
Caren Vittetoe holds a Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music, and a Master’s Degree in Music from the University of Nebraska.
In 1998 she won a position with the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band and served as a clarinetist for 6 years. She was also a member of the Air National Guard Band of the Midwest from 2019-2024. As a military clarinetist, she has performed with many active-duty bands all around the country including the Band of Mid America, the Band of the Golden West, and the Air Force Academy Band. She continues to be sought after by active bands as a substitute.
In addition to her work as a military clarinetist, Caren has also performed with many symphony orchestras including the Omaha and Lincoln Symphonies, the Honolulu Symphony, the Ocmulgee Symphony and the Edwardsville Symphony.
She is active in performing chamber music and recitals in the St. Louis Metro East area where she lives.
Caren is a seasoned music educator, with 26 years of experience as a private teacher, and currently teaches at both Kaskaskia College and East Central College.
