Peng Jing

Dr. Peng Jing is a clarinet teacher of Xinghai Conservatory of Music; First Prize Winner of Buffet Crampon Clarinet Competition; Scholarship Winner of China Edifier Musician Foundation; Buffet Crampon Youth Artist; Gonzalez Reeds Artist; Judge of “This is Our Melody” Music Tour Performance, organized by Ministry of Culture and Tourism Talent Center; Judge of South China Solo and Ensemble Performance of Wind Instrument and Percussion; Judge of Buffet Crampon Clarinet Competition. Prior to this he was a clarinet teacher of Sun Yat-Sen University School of Art, the Principal Clarinetist of China Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Principal Clarinetist of Universität der Künste Berlin Symphony Orchestra and the clarinetist of Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra. Published selected textbook “Classic Clarinet Excerpts”.

Dr. Peng Jing had his first clarinet lesson at the age of 10, successively studied with Prof. Jin Guangri of Minzu University of China and Prof. Yuan Yuan of Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM). During his period in CCOM he was invited to serve as clarinetist at Contemporary Ensemble Frankfurt.

He was admitted to Universität der Künste Berlin in 2013 to pursue his master degree. Dr. Peng Jing studied with Prof. Andreas Langenbuch and Prof. Francios Benda and graduated with the highest grade. He was admitted to Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main in 2015 to pursue his doctor degree, studied with Prof. Laura Ruiz Ferreres. He was invited to perform L. Spohr Clarinet Concerto with Gießen Stadt Oper, receiving a highly acclaim from the local media.

While studying abroad and working, Dr. Peng Jing has been featured in many top international competitions, including the 42nd Belgrade International Music Competition, the 4th Jacques Lancelot International Clarinet Competition, the 68th ARD International Music Competition, etc., as well as been invited to serve as guest clarinetist at Berlin Youth Symphony Orchestra, Brandenburg Symphoniker and many European professional orchestras.

Dr. Peng Jing has performed in many major concert halls throughout Europe, including Berliner Philharmonie, Rudolfinm Czech, Kultur-und Kongresszentrum Luzern, under the baton of Maestro Zubin Mehta, Daniel Harding, Michael Stern, David Stern, Jaap van Zweden, etc.; also, he performed with soloist Yo-Yo Ma, Mike Block, to name a few.
