This July, Gonzalez Reeds turns 39
On July 12, 1985, the Gonzalez family founded Argendonax SRL, one of the largest suppliers of cane for the clarinet and saxophone reed industry.
First harvesting wild cane, and then incorporating plantations, including the already renowned 3 de Mayo, Argendonax put Mendoza on the map of the music industry.
It was a supplier to the largest reed manufacturer in France for several decades. In 1995, this company became a reed manufacturer, launching the Zonda reeds on the market in collaboration with Powell Flutes.
In 2000, the first reed under the Gonzalez Reeds brand was launched, the FOF for Bb clarinet. The history of Gonzalez reeds begins as a supplier of raw materials, and continues 39 years later with a complete line of reeds for clarinets and saxophones with innovative vamps and high-quality raw materials, grown organically at the foot of the Andes mountain range.
